Have you stretched enough today?

It's not just a rethorical question. In fact, it's beyond literal. Stretching in the morning makes you feel great. It's not only one of the things we do first when we wake up -- it also pervades our lives. For the best.

Think. Stretching after running / going to the gym / a long day… only does good to you. It prevents from getting too much muscle aches the day after exercizing, it allows you to relax when trapped in a tense moment, it helps you wake up your body and mind…

Oh, the mind. This brought me to yoga. Yoga helps you stretch your body and its capacity to do so. And yoga also gives your mind a place to breathe, it opens up a space for your soul to be alive. This is why yoga is called a “holistic” sport or activity - it speaks and takes care of every aspect of your being as a human.

A friend of mine is an amazing yoga instructor. Her sessions inject life into you in a way you would not expect. Her name is Teresa HerreraYoga is in her way of life.

Wait. Guess what? This is where it really is becoming super interesting and exciting. She is a businesswoman, a model, a show host, and an actress. Is that all? That's a LOT. How does she do that? She is simply tuned to her self (that's right, in two words) and therefore true to herself. She is always stretching her capacities, living on the edge of the known spaces to tackle the unknown. She stretches mentally and physically. And she still finds time to help others stretch their lives.

If you look at the link to her yoga page, you can also see how glamorous she is. Go on, flick through. Do you see why I decided to help her spread the yoga love worldwide?

So. What is there to learn from all of this? I think the quote by George Bernard Shaw would be totally appropriate here: “Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

Stretch yourself to your new limits. That is my advice.

As a certified professional coach, I love saying that. In the days when I was still attending school for my certification, we had to define what coaching was, in the most straight-forward way. “How would you define coaching to your future clients?” - that was the question we had to reply to. The best definition we ever came with was “Coaching is about stretching your abilities, both personal and professional, beyond your known limits to help you achieve your ambitious goal."

Stretch away!
