The Lazy Person's Guide to Achievement

Do you know of anyone who seems to accomplish so much without rushing around constantly? Do you know like a million people who live like 20 chickens running around without their heads? I do. Sometimes in talking to these people, I feel tired just from hearing all the stuff they're doing. Sometimes I feel lazy in comparison, at least for a few minutes. I'm still convinced, it's gotten through to my hard head, that the people who do the most (like I used to be) are not necessarily contributing the most, except for stress and feeling unappreciated.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that lying at home eating bon bons all day is going to rock your life. I just know that taking it easy is not the opposite of being productive.

I also know, like you, that some days are rushed. But it's not a good habit.

First of all, haste really does make waste. I always bump into things when i start running around too fast and end up with these weird bruises on odd places.

Another thing is that a happy life is made of happy moments and if you're stressed out or rushing too much, you'll never see or feel these happy times.

I used to feel superior to Ruben, my husband, because I can flat out-do him any day. He does not bounce out of bed in the mornings like some of us. He forgets to do a ton of stuff. And yet somehow, the right things get done. Results happen.

That's why I recommend that all my clients build in free times during the days.  I encourage them to underschedule themselves in order to create breathing room.

Inhale and hold if for a few seconds. Look around and enjoy the summer moment. What can you take off your to-do list today?
