Here's what you learn at Mixonian Institute: how to communicate more effectively, how to show up when nobody else does and how to be the best you.

According to researchers Cathy N. Davidson and David Theo Goldberg in "The Future of Learning Institutions in a Digital Age," the learning experience has been transformed. Mixonian Institute exists because of that change. It used to be that only the elites had access to public speaking, media and executive coaching, but now it's available to anyone who is committed to excellence.

Learning how to get your message out in a bigger and more effective way is life-changing and can be fun.

The mission of Mixonian Institute is to provide access for high achievers to the best learning experience about leadership communication in an easily-assimilated format that is not only educational but entertaining.

It's definitely not for everybody. It's for people committed to excellence in life.

A bit about me.  Some people call me the "communication whisperer." Former academic, public speaking and leadership coach, writer, entrepreneur and mother of 3 awesome kids and 1 stepdaughter! I went to Sweet Briar College, where I studied Spanish and Economics, got my MBA at University of Dallas and PhD in Communication Studies at Regent University. I am a bilingual, multicultural expert on charisma and leadership with extensive research on the communication success of Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez.   I have lived and worked in 4 different countries, always writing and teaching better management, life and communication skills. I've taught in corporate environments, universities (ECU and College of Charleston,) high schools and even homeschooled for several years. I am the former editor of Management Perspective, based in Caracas, Venezuela and a former facilitator for the Stephen Covey Group also in Caracas. I speak fluent Spanish.

Hi Dr. Mixon,

I am currently a graduate student at ECU in the Counselor Education program. I am applying for admission to the doctoral program at Regent University for Counselor Education and Supervision. I was wondering if you would be willing to talk about your experience with Regent during your doctoral program...I think it would be very helpful for me to be able to discuss Regent with a former student.

Please let me know if this is something you would be willing to do- my email is: LMG0511@ecu.edu . Thank you!

Great new look.
